Michael R Nelson, Jr. is a Financial Advisor with Waddell & Reed in the Clearwater, FL, office. He received his Bachelors of Accounting from Ohio University on a full football scholarship. Following graduation, Michael took a position on the Wealth Management Division team of United Bank located in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
Having been born to two deaf parents, Michael discovered his ability and love of helping others at an early age; thus, igniting his decision to move to Clearwater, FL, to start his own practice with Waddell & Reed. His passion to give back on a more personal level soon became the foundation of his work.
In addition to being a Financial Advisor, Michael is an active member of the networking group BNI and an avid golfer. His other passions in life include traveling, testing out his chef skills in the kitchen (and just being a foodie),craft beers, sports, and spending time with friends & family. He currently resides in Safety Harbor, FL, with his wife, Lauren, and their dog, a rescued mix named Dezi.
